Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) engineers announced new method which will allow to change shape of materials and compositions, says Eurekalert. This discovery may lead to the development of the planes with variable shape to fit better flight conditions and to have better flight performance.

Su-34 ‘Fullback’ to replace Su-24 and Tu-22M3

Two new-generation frontline bombers Su-34 will enter Russian AirForce regular service this year. It was told by vice-prime-minister of Defence Sergey Ivanov after reviewing new aircraft on the Novosibirsk aircraft building company named after Valery Chkalov. Tu-160 will enter service

In the end of last year 2005, Vladimir Putin signed up the decree to enter service Tu-160, unique strategic aviation complex. Tu-160 “Blackjack” for its color and graceful shape got nickname - “White swan”. The most powerfull Russian bomber was created in the beginning of 80th and became the backbone of strategical nuclear deterrent forces. During the 18 years it was in attempted operations. It means all the pilots of this plane were set down as test-pilots. Among them were Vladimir Putin and Minister of Defence Vladimir Ivanov, who performed a flight on “White swan”. Vesti news program from “RTR” Russian TV channel reports: two Tu-144 airplanes, assigned to the Zhukovsky airbase, were sold to two private companies. Companies are going to cut them into pieces and resell as a nonferrous scrap (back to the state most possibly). One of the planes has already lost part of the aluminium facing under the wings.

Mi-28N will enter service

Regular Russian Air Forces will be supplied with Mi-28N in nearest future, said colonel Alexander Drobyshevsky, chief of the press service of the Air Force.

As “China Daily” reports, on 17–19 of March 2006 in China will take a part unqiue Su-27 and Su-30 fighters performance demonstration. Heavy supersonic aircrafts will fly through the Tianmen cave.
