This discovery may lead to the development of the planes with variable shape to fit better flight conditions and to have better flight performance.

It was told by vice-prime-minister of Defence Sergey Ivanov after reviewing new aircraft on the Novosibirsk aircraft building company named after Valery Chkalov. Tu-160 “Blackjack” for its color and graceful shape got nickname - “White swan”. The most powerfull Russian bomber was created in the beginning of 80th and became the backbone of strategical nuclear deterrent forces. During the 18 years it was in attempted operations. It means all the pilots of this plane were set down as test-pilots. Among them were Vladimir Putin and Minister of Defence Vladimir Ivanov, who performed a flight on “White swan”. Vesti news program from “RTR” Russian TV channel reports: two Tu-144 airplanes, assigned to the Zhukovsky airbase, were sold to two private companies. Companies are going to cut them into pieces and resell as a nonferrous scrap (back to the state most possibly). One of the planes has already lost part of the aluminium facing under the wings.
