Rus aerobatic team demonstration flight on MAKS 2003 airshow. Not professional video, bad weather… but what a show! Group flight, the “Bell” figure, the gauntlet flight and “1 meter high” (my favorite) flight.
Good chance to see the same but from the cockpit view is to check out this video: Valery Sobolev L-39 pilotage.

L-39 jet-plane is used by Rus aerobatic team. All the miracles of aerobatic we can see from the land, Rus pilots are doing on this plane. A little bit old already, but still very manoeuvrable and useful. All the photos have been made by me personally, when I went to training base near the Moscow and flew this plane together with one of Rus pilots.

This plane was used for training purposes in the past. For sure, now pilots are using them too. But for today’s generation of fighters this plane already doesn’t fit, there are more modern training planes.

Rus aerobatic team is the only team that survived in the dark times of Russia in 90’s. And today we can enjoy their art. If you’ll recall that those planes has far not so powerful engine comparing with MiG-29 (Strizhi aerobatic team) and Su-27 (Russian knights), you’ll understand that it’s really sign of extremely high professionalism. Every mistake that pilot can do on MiG-29 can be fixed very fast because of big throttle and power reserve they have. L-39 pilots doesn’t have such ability, so they have to be extremely concentrated and careful flying tight formation and aerobatic. As a result we can see in the sky the beauty of flight.

You can experience all this beauty easily by ordering the flight tour at Incredible Adventures company. In addition, through this company you can order Mig-29 and Su-27 flights with any aerobatic program you want - from very smooth to the extreme ones.

Valery Sobolev is a leading pilot of Rus aerobatic team. Excellent video, cockpit view, 9:43 of beatifull aerobatic over the Zhukovsky, during MAKS exhibition.
This video gives you full presence feeling, completely amazing. Valery demonstrates cross-courses pilotage through the planes line and “The bell” aerobatic figure. The smoke behind the plane is taking you completely away with the feeling of free fall.
You can see, all these miracles, pilots are demonstrating in the sky, are really hard work.
Valery Sobolev already became a star of all aerobatic videos, you can often see him in MAKS trailers. Exactly, shots from this video are often beeing used in advertising videoclips.
