There is no information about Su-25 crew, but it is very possible they’ve been captured by the Georgian side.
“We are not in war with Georgia, so we still have political contacts with Georgia governement, but for now there is no any reply about our people from their side”.

Australia buys Super Hornets

Australian government told on Tuesday that the country will acquire 24 F/A-18E/F Super Hornets and their equipment from Boeing. The deal is worth of $4,6 billion. These will fill the cap left by the existing 71 less capable F/A-18A/Bs and the Vietnam era F-111s that are expected to retire from service in 2010.

Australian’s Defence Minister Brendan Nelson told that Australia is still commited to the JSF program and said that the Super Hornets are interim combat system while waiting for the 100 F-35 Lightning II planes on order. Mr. Nelson also told that Australia will not accept any risks on defense during the transition to the F-35. So the Super Hornets are for maintaining the potent and admitted capabilities of the Australian Air Force to the next decade and beyond.

Australia is very close ally for the USA and is a part of the JSF development program which made its first test flight in December. Australian government expects to get its first JSF fighter (the F-35) in 2013. “The JSF is the most suitable aircraft for Australia’s future combat and strike needs,” Nelson told.
