New US ABM shield in Poland?

USA is going to install a new Anti Ballistic Missile shield in Poland.

Does anybody know what type of system is that(is it the safeguard system that's already used in USA?)and what type of missiles does it use?

Is this system able to destroy ICBM's?And especially the Russian RT-2UTTKh Topol M?

No, Safeguard system uses Exoathmospheric Nuclear Interceptor Missiles as a means to destroy Incoming Threaths, beside it's now already De-Activated

as far as i know US forces new ABM system is named THAAD system, it's consists of Early Warning Radar system, an Engagement Radar that works in X-band to provide good Accuracy+resolution to help guide the Interceptor Missile which i don't know what type it is

if you're askin is it able to destroy the Topol-M ? well i'll say it depend
on the TOPOL-M's protection system , usually typical ICBM protective system relies on Noise Jammers, Decoys,Maneuvereable warhead and warhead armour ,howver idon't know much about TOPOL-M however Russian Designers claim that it would be survivable against even Laser based ABM system

It won't do a whole lot, other then piss off Russia. 10, even 20 won't do a whole lot, since Russia has ICBM's as well as Iskanders aiming at Poland now, and these intercepters are only decent if the missiles are flying overhead, not at them.

ah well i think the one who install the ABM are confident enough to take a chance

BTW i agree with you, Iskander-M system will likely be a good deterrance
