Yes, really sad what happened to Tkachenko. According to RIA Novosti, he managed to eject, but his parachute caught fire. What a bad luck. RIP.

I am sad but I am also curious what will we hear about the results of the investigation. I hope that it will be a thorough investigation so neither the death nor the injuries of such fine airmen will be in vain. I hope that we can learn from satisfactory answers. At the moment it is still an open possibility to sweep the unpleasant or undiscovered facts under the rug (remember the Kursk's firs days on the bottom?), or to be mature and show a truly hones, objective manner. And let the chips fall wherever they may. Not sensationalism, nor shyness should bend the truth.
Until then-we can only speculate. The Strizhi crash (es?) from earlier did not give reasons or sequence of events either...but at least there were a few photoes)

The Vityazi won't perform anymore in MAKS 2009: their show was cancelled. The other Russian aerobatic teams will perform as scheduled.
