Default news at area51?

It has been alleged that the SR-72 Mach 6+ airplane will be manufactured. But this is only stipulated reason for the observed fact: At Nellis, Area 51 new, huge building complex is under construction. (The main building dimensions are 80x180 meters!)
Anyone with new pictures from there?

Most of the aerial stunts and crashes etc. are (and have been) made at Mojave Airport. A stuntmen-school also is based there. Mojave could be very well the most interesting civilian airport in the USA and maybe even at anywhere else too.

I've been there. I took a DHC-8 there (Mojave) for it's last flight to the boneyard. It's a very interesting place but I didn't have any time to wander around. It's right next door to Edwards AFB and it was the day President Reagan was burried so the restricted area was closed. I got to fly right over the runways and hangers at Edwards at about 6000 feet, very cool. Of course I had to do a high speed low approach at Mojave to say goodbye to the plane. (I have it on videotape somewhere)

That's also the home of Scaled Composits, ie Dick and Burt Rutan, and their private space venture.

Default another place on the globe

I am curious if some of the readers of the forum will recognise any of the attached pictures and locate them. It would be great to get together again in these places and develop "base history" like most of the USAF does (sometimes with Smithsonian or civilian contractors, writers). No secrets, just good stories , fun and wine!

Default addendum

And a few more. Some are not airbases but NBC storages and Scud nests.

Cool zoomcrumgroom

If you look at Nellis AFB closely on the satellite picture, near a corner of Swan ave. you will find a Fulcrum parked on the grass, accross the street a MiG-17 Fresco. All of these among houses of milit. families, not hidden or fenced off.

Exclamation just mumbling to myself

Can the satellite picture of Steve Fossett's Bellanca seen?
Otherwise: It may be a good forum topics to discuss a bit the "aviators who disappeared"...After all the forum is international so a lot more effective than current and politically corrected media.
