Talking L-4B Piper Cub verses ME-109

L-4B Piper Cub is a better fighter and more maneuverable then the ME-109.

L-4B Piper Cub outmaneuvered a ME-109 and kills it.

Quote:
During September of 1943 near Naples, Italy, a German ME–109 fighter made a low–level attempt to shot down Capt. Schultz and "Janey". Due to this low–level engagement and the high maneuverability of "Janey", the hunter became the prey when the ME–109 over flew the tight turning "Janey" and crashed into a hill. Dutch was credited by the witnessing 3rd Division troops for downing this German Me–109 fighter. Dutch last saw "Janey" in May, 1945 on display beneath the Eiffel Tower during the Allies victory parade.

Of course before the quote, I was stating things kind of ridiculously. The story is true. I was kind using the same tactic that the media, politicians, and people that often post on message boards/ blogs. Take something that is truthful and twist it and use it out of context as propaganda (to mislead) and or in delusion.

Though the kill doesn't count in some ways, in some ways it does as it is a “technical kill”. Some would say the L-4B Piper Cub outmaneuvered the ME-109.

You have to admit an L-4B Piper Cub wining a fight with an ME-109 quite an accomplishment.

Default Piper Cub

Yes, one can be amazed with a good reason about the uses of the Cub. Israel in 1948 used them to lead tank-deivisions in the battle, while the tanks rolled hiding in smoke and sand-dust. The plane could fly as slow as fast the tanks rolled, but could spot the opponent forces from above.
As for the dogfight? If the Cub survives hits from the Gustav (and the cannon-ammo does not explode going through linen), he has a better angular turn-rate and if he shoots before the Me disappears, the Cub' bullets and missiles can be just as good as any other plane's.
By the stories of Israeli veteran tankers: "We would have been lost ad just loitering ourselves to death if not to defeat without the Cubs".
