Igor Tkachenko, the Russian Knights team leader has crashed

Today, during the preparation for the MAKS-2009 in Zhukovsky skies two Su-27 collided. Three pilots ejected, Igor Tkachenko and Igor Kurilenko from the leader two-seater Su-27UB and Vitaly Melnik from the wingman single-seater Su-27.

Parachute of the Igor Tkachenko didn’t open and the pilot died. By the unchecked information one more pilot (not known which one) has spinal fracture.
UPDATE 17.08.2009 14:12 Moscow time:
Kurilenko has concussion of the brain and malleolar fracture of the left calf. Melnik has footstep soft tissue bruise.

First version of the accident is the two-seater Su-27UB control failure, as a result wingman has overflew the leader and hit him in the frontal part by the engines. Again, by the unchecked information Igor Tkachenko after that wasn’t able to eject, the eject command was given by the co-pilot, Igor Kurilenko. Engine of the wingman get on fire and pilot ejected.

The parachute did open but caught fire and burnt in the air. Igor died.

I’m sick of how news companies are stealing bullshit from each other and making even bigger bullshit out of it. One drunk guy from the farm told he saw something, now everybody say it caught fire. No spotters, no journalists in Zhukovsky - nobody saw fire parachute.

I am sad for this accident. Moscu is so far for me… but i know at Mr Igor for this site. Truthly in two videos… they show a greath human be. MR PAVEL… put a flower for him…
