Mi-28N will enter service

Regular Russian Air Forces will be supplied with Mi-28N in nearest future, said colonel Alexander Drobyshevsky, chief of the press service of the Air Force.
On the meeting of state commission in AirForces General Headquarter under the chairmanship of commander-in-chief of Russian Air Force army general Vladimir Mikhailov was made a decision to finish first stage of Mi-28N state tests.
Given preliminary advice allows to “launch serial production of the helicopters on “Rosvertol” plant (Rostov-on-Don) and to re-equip regualr Air Force units with new helicopters Mi-28N in shortest time limits” said chief of the press service.
By the Russian Air Forces data new combat aircraft effectiveness exceeds existing prototypes by 4-5 times. Taking into consideration that all the technical performance should be increased to the highest level, during the examination state commission decided to close three-years contract between Russian Ministry of Defense and Rosvertol for the helicopters supply. On the first stage AirForces will get 20 helicopters.
In late december 2005 in Rostov took off first serial Mi-28N. Today this tail took alreay 140 flights, including 136 qualification ones. Such results allow to start serial production of this aircraft. By the number of technical solutions Mi-28N helicopter is unique, mention Air Force representatives.

and what about the Ka-50? i think the kamov is the better aircraft, it has some unique features (extreme maneuverbility, ejecttion seats)
but maybe piloting a modern helicopter is too much for a single pilot

Ka-50 entered regular service in ground army in 1995, as a ground forces support helicopter.
But it seems it doesn’t look like a suitable heli, too hard to control for one person.
Ka-52 is still passing state examination.
Ka-50-2, export two-seater version, created specially for Turkish tender to fully re-equip helicopters fleet still is prototype. And since 2001 I didn’t see any new information about this model.
