Two F-16 impact over ItalyIn the skies of Italy two F-16 has collision.

Two Italian Air Force fighters impacted over Sardinia island shore, between Muravera and San-Vito cities. Pilots has ejected succesfully, they weren’t wounded.

Accident took place yesterday evening, 22.15 local time. F-16 aircrafts were performing night training flight according Spring Flag 2006 international training operation, Dechimomannu airbase, when contact with them was lost. Pilots ejected and were picked up in the sea and immediatelly taken to the Cagliari hospital. Their condition is satisfying. Right now Italian Air Force commission is investigating the accident reasons.

As was told by Italian Air Forces headquarter, aviation training operations are taking place over the sea to prevent casualties in crash situations.

  2. I read in Swedish news that the collision was between Greek and Turkish F-16 fighter jets and that the Greek pilot was killed in the accident. The Turkish pilot ejected safely. - Same thing or two different incidents???
