I think the a-10 warthog is a awsom plane. I think the military should really think about keeping it around for a really long time.what other plane can turn a army tank into swisscheese with it’s gatlin gun? none I am always looking for new information on the a-10. I hope the military don’t get rid of it any time soon.

a-10 is hightech warplane.it has proven it’s role in gulf war.but in war of iraqi freedom one of its was shot down by iraqis. so i think it’s not really sophisticated.

It’s not used for attack anymore now it’s used alonside the ov-10 Mowhawk in the COIN role. It’s been replaced by two seat F-16s.

That’s not true. A-10’s will be in service until 2030.

I didn’t say it would go out of service with the U.S. military I simply said it changed roles cause the two seat F-16 is faster and can carry a bigger weapons load so it’s better suited for the anti-tank role. but your rigth that the A-10 will stay in service till 2030.

F-16 cant match the Thunderbolt even with immprovemnts sorry to say but F-16 is sticking to more of the Anti Air that ground.A-10 will always be better until they come out with something just as good and more powerful.

I did the electrical installation for the new TACAN at Pope AFB and the A-10 was always over-flying us while we worked. I even had a look down the main gun as one zeroed in on us in a hole! NEVER want to see that from the other side of the battle. I really miss them and the sound of the engines now that I am in Denver! Keep flying those wonderful, ugly mutts!

I think th A-10 is the most rugged plane the U.S. Military has in its arsenal. come on now how many ohter planes do you know of that can get half its wing blown off and still make it back to base. the A-10 is here to stay unless something like the F-35 JSF comes and replaces all the militarys planes
