landing gear issue since landing gear on left side was test gear from another F22. mechanical failure said gear was down and locked butleft side would not stay down and locked. pilot flew patterns around airfield for hours till they decided to go for a cable landing. he’s lucky he didn’t pull a ground loop and explode when left side collapsed under mechanical shearing. End of story.

people learn from their mistakes. crashes always happen. it was a prototype so had mistakes. if didnt have any it wouldnt be called a prototype.

Ok.. if you guys aren’t in the air force, and haven’t served, then you don’t know what happened.. Stuff breaks on planes every time one takes off.. And the guys who fix these planes do a great job.. so if you don’t know what you’re talking about with these planes then just don’t talk.

I saw the video. It was the 2nd prototype of now f-22, in it the landing gear isn’t down due technical problem.but the pilot didn’t eject to save the million $ plane.we should give him a thumbs up.

Hmm,…. it’s just another part in the step for a true stealth fighter. Looking at the F/A 22A Raptor today, you can see that this was just a small lesson learned in the devolping stages in the aircraft. It’s things like this that leave lessons learned, thus making the aircraft better, from the start.
