I know an ex tornado squadron leader, he told me the ruskie jets are piles of junk , terrible radars, missiles, ecm and poorly trained pilots .

He said the Tornado F3 with Amraam and Asramm would wipe out any Soviet junk never mind the F22 and Eurofighter .

Please can all these supporters of useless Ruskie Jets stop now !!

I work for the Black Aces, Im an AT and I deal with all the radar systems,

The Superhornet is not as fast or agile as a mig, but what she DOES have is stealth and jadarjamming. Also, she will never go into combat by herself, she will most likely have an EA6B soon ro be relpaced by the EA18G electronic attack aircraft. But again, its a movie, That and its against an aging Charlie, Not a newer Echo of Foxtrot.

When the iron curtain fell, the west have a glimpse of a Russian missiles inherited by the unified Germany Air Force. they were surprised to find that russian missiles technology were years ahead of any in the western inventory. R-27 for example, are modular in design and can be upgraded in parts. the single missile can even use a different seeker by swithing the seeker head.

There's not yet any fight between F-15/18/16 against the SU-27 and derivatives. Syria and Iran attempted to acquire SU-30 only to be thwarted by US and Israel. But they allow both Syria and Iran to posses MIG-29. this should say something about the SU-30 capability.

i agree with phoenix's view, Third world countries even they have MIG-29s, Su-30 MKI and Su-35. They might have difficulties operating them in the aspect of their weaponry and also their pilot skills. when pitted againist US fighters who are well trained and armed with better missiles they do not stand a chance even though their aircraft is capable of winning a guns only dogfight but not a missile era dogfight thanks to mediocore russian missiles.

****** Plus OVERALL U.S. and WEStERN pilots are better trained.******

Depends on which airforce you are comparing it with. The newly showcased Mig 35 at bangalore airshow stole the show despite the presence of much hyped LMA F16 and Boeing FA18 (to a certain extent rightly so). Indian pilots who saw this bird were pleasantly surprised by certain features of this plane.

This 126 million dollar deal would be a shot in the arm for the one that clenches it. Everyoe thought it would be all american affair until the Mig 35 flew in all the way from Moscow till Bangalore in less than 3 hours

Like someone said earlier, it depends on strategies as well.

According to Bill Gunston, the military aviation writer and pilot, in his 1989 book "Fighter Missions", described a hypothetical scenario whereby a F16-C tangoed with a Mig-29A. F16 with a well trained pilot whereas the Mig had an inept one. In his opinion, this dogfight will result in a stalement in all probability.

This says something about the planes and the drivers at that time.

Sure the americans have better records, but those records are held against developing and third world countries. Of course, that isn't to say the F-16 fighting falcon, F/A-18 hornet, and F-15 eagle(I'm actually an EAGLE fan.)are bad, it's only to say that
the mig's shouldn't be looked down upon that much either.
