		<description>I think the fact that Russian aircraft are capable of taking off without a catapult is absolutely amazing! I guess the less you rely on mechanical things (i.e. the catapults) the faster you can launch aircraft into the air and potentially have fewer problems with equipment in the long run. It just goes to show that these planes have great weight / thrust ratios.

I also wonder how high that ramp is, anyone have numbers?</description>

		<description>IMO, I'd disagree with lumping it in with the Su-32/34 family. While it shares the cockpit, it's jammed onto a standard 'Flanker' airframe with standard nose cone fit, without the aerodynamic refinements (chines) for low-level flight. Where it's been marinized, it probably should be lumped in with the Su-33 family, if not a new designation of its own, an odd number to reflect that it's still primarily a fighter.
