Not usual for Aviapedia - some software stuff for download. It’s old PC game, but still I like it so much and since then I never saw something similar.
It’s WWII air combat tactic simulator. Аssault echelon, screening echelon, gun jams and gunfighters covering fire, bombers squadrons, assignment pilots on day duty, air patrols, bomb strikes plans, intercept missions etc.
Don’t mix up! It’s not the flight simulator, it is tactic game. Highly recommended to the squadron leaders and WWII air combat fans who wants to understand how it is possible with 4 fighters to prevent bomb strike mission of 18 bombers (and you will get - why 18, btw ).
You may choose three countries to fight for: England (protect London from German bombers), Germany (destroy London ) and France (didn’t play ). Different strategy, different tactics.
In England missions - you always should have fresh pilots for bombers interception.
In Germany missions - plan carefully bomb strikes, think about fighters cover etc.
It’s about general strategy. And tactics in air combat - just excellent.
On easy levels it’s in two dimensions only, but it will not be very simple, believe me The higher difficulty level - the more details added: wings banking, engine power, G limits, stalls, blind spots, gun birst control etc.
Speed, turns, covering - you should use everything to keep your pilots alive and to accomplish mission. You will understand that wingman is a little bit bigger then just one more plane. And that combat unit is two planes, not the one!
Pilots are learning. They became snipers, aces, eagle-eyes guys. So you may create your own team of Luftwaffe aces! On the last difficulty level you will have 3-rd dimension (altitude) of combat added.
Excellent game, even in our 3D century of simulators.
